Which do I use where?

For mechanical floor cleaning, it is crucial to combine the right cleaning machine, the right tool and the right cleaning agent. When it comes to the tool, there are two options: pads or brushes. But what are they each used for?

The basic principle:
Smooth floors require a pad, while brushes are used on textured floors or floors with deep, wide joints.

Examples for the use of pads:

  • Smooth PVC, LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles)
  • Laminate, smooth
  • Linoleum
  • Natural rubber/rubber, smooth
  • Sports flooring (PU sealing)
  • Sanded artificial stone (e.g. Terrazzo)
  • Polished natural stone (e.g. marble)
  • Sanded hard stone (e.g. granite)
  • Wooden/cork parquet, sealed
  • Oiled wooden parquet
  • CV (cushion vinyl)
  • Hard magnesite flooring
  • Industrial flooring coated with synthetic resin, smooth (e.g. epoxy resin)
  • Cement coating
  • Carpet (carpet pad method)

Examples for the use of brushes:

  • Glazed ceramic tiles
  • Textured ceramic tiles
  • Textured hard stone (e.g. granite)
  • Tread safety flooring
  • Washed concrete
  • Industrial flooring coated with synthetic resin, textured (e.g. epoxy resin)
  • Carpet (shampooing)

Practical tip:

  • The abrasiveness of the pad or brush must be adapted to the floor covering and the cleaning method.
  • In the Wetrok Cleaning & Care Instructions you can find recommendations about which pad or brush is the ideal choice for each floor covering.
